Teamwork!” is the signature motto of Wonder Pets, a spirited Nick Jr. show about three adorable animal rescuers who travel around the world in a flying boat, helping other animals in need.

The show features three adorable main characters--Linny the Guinea Pig, Ming-Ming Duckling, and Turtle Tuck—who rely on their quick wet, strong sense of compassion and their cooperative spirit to rescue other creatures in need.

What they don’t rely on, however, are super powers; indeed, Wonder Pets rank among the few children’s super heroes who have no otherworldly powers. Show creators say that this trait makes them more relatable to children.

Wonder Pets is also distinguished as among the first “photo-puppetry” shows; programs created with a style of animation that involves the manipulation of actual animal images. And music plays a major role in each episode, translating to what creators refer to as mini operas for children.

Wonder Pets is the creation of Little Airplane productions, under the direction of Josh Selig, President and Founder of Little Airplane, and Jennifer Oxley, Creative Director. The company previously created the show “Piper O’Possum” for the Nick Jr. network; “Wonder Pets” originated as a series of short films called "The Adventures of Linny the Guinea Pig." Two other characters were added to the mix, and the “Wonder Pets” series debuted in 2006. In 2008, the show was awarded an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.
